The marriage of Thomas George Bickley to Rose Buck was registered in Wagin, Western Australia, Australia in 1907.

An Australian newspaper reports following in 1916:

NATIVES AND LIQUOR
ACCUSED'S PERJURED EVIDENCE
Thomas George Bickley, a man of the laboring class, was presented in the Criminal Court yesterday on a charge of having at Wagin on September 27 last committed perjury. He was defended by Mr. J. F. M'Millan and pleaded not guilty.
The case for the Crown was that on the date in question Bickley was charged at the Wagin Police Court with having supplied liquor, to wit whisky and rum, to aboriginal natives. In the course of the hearing of the charge, as a result of which he was convicted and fined £20, he swore that he did not buy a bottle of rum at the Wagin Hotel on September 11. Evidence was given to show that he had purchased the rum at the Wagin Hotel and supplied it to the natives.
Accused did not give evidence to support the charge, inasmuch as the evidence of the one witness who spoke to the purchase of the rum was not corroborated.
The jury found the charge proved, and his Honor, Mr. Justice Rooth, on hearing that accused had not previously been in trouble, bound him over in his own recognisances to be good behaviour for two years.

Browning - Private Fred Browning, of the 20th Reinforcement, in Codford Hospital, England, second beloved son of John and the late Elizabeth Browning, Pukerau, aged 31 years. Deeply mourned.

The "Southland Times" on 07 April 1917:
THE ROLL OF HONOR
Word has been received by Mrs. John Hargest, Gore, that her brother, Private Fred Browning, had died in the Military Hospital at Codford, England. The late Private Browning, who was 31 years of age, was born at Dunedin and was brought up at Pukerau, receiving his education at the Pukerau School. He was a blacksmith by trade, but left that occupation for health reasons and worked on a farm in the Pukerau and Walkaka districts, and afterwards in the Wellington and Nelson provinces. He was working in the Queenstown district when he enlisted and left with the 20th Reinforcement but became ill when he reached England and was taken to the Devonport Military Hospital, from whence he was removed to the Military Hospital at Codford. The father of the deceased resides at Pukerau and his brothers are farming at Walkaka. The late Private Browning eas well known in this district and news of his death will occasion general regret.
