At his residence, Dipton House, Riding Mill, Northumberland, on April 10th, in his 81st year, Henry Straker.

. . . Another old Hawkesbury native passed over to the great majority on Monday, in the person of James Stubbs, who lived at Pitt Town practically all his life. He was born at Maroota and married, when only 16 years of age, to Miss Hannah Bolton. He was a farmer, and was of a very wiry constitution. He died at the age of 85 years. The issue of the marriage was a family of ten children, of whom four sons and three daughters died before their father. Those living are: Emily, Eva Alice (Mrs. James Greenfield), Maria Hannah. The burial took place at Pitt Town on Tuesday. Rev. J. F. Cherry was the officiating clergyman, and Mr. J. W. Chandler the undertaker.

On Sept. 2, 1944, peacefully, Margeret Bruce ("Paddy"), darling wife of Colonel Leslie A. Stevenson (late R. A. M. C.), of "Cobbes", Felden, Hemel Hempstead. No mourning, no flowers.

89 Boro, L. I. Soldiers are killed in Action.
Washington, Oct. 20 - The War Department made public today the names of 2,818 soldiers killed in action in the European and Mediterranean areas. The following 89 Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island men are included:

Stanzione, Staff. Sgt., Anthony E. - Mrs. Louis Stanzione, mother, 231 8th St.

Anthony E. Stanzione was born on 25 November 1919 in New York. His parents were Vincent and Louise Stanzione. He entered the Army on 19 January 1942 and served with the 10th Infantry Regiment, 5th Infantry Division. He was fallen on 29 July 1944 and was interred in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Brooklyn, New York.
