Washington, Oct. 20 - The War Department made public today the names of 2,818 soldiers killed in action in the European and Mediterranean areas. The following 89 Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island men are included:

Probably: Cornelius W. Owens was born on 18 November 1918 in Brooklyn, New York. His parents were Richard F. and Hazel Roxbury Owens. His wife was Josephine Gunther. He served with the 3rd Battalion, 502nd Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division and felt on 11 June 1944 in France. He was interred in the Calvary Cemetery, New York, on 09 July 1948. He awarded the Purple Heart. |
