"Out of the stress of the doing, 89 Boro, L. I. Soldiers are killed in Action. Edward T. Hurley was born on 10 July 1920 in New York. His parents were Edward Joseph and Margaret Hurley, nee Burke. His wife was Dorothy May Herring. He served with the 349th Infantry Regiment, 88th Infantry Division and was fallen on 13 July 1944 in Italy. He was interred in the Florence American Cemetery, Italy. He awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
