On Thursday last, at the Royal Marine Barrack, Millbay, Edward Hockly, Esq., First Lieutenant in the Royal Marines.
Jan 14, after a few days illness, aged 37, Sarah, the wife of Mr. Robert Hooper, Druggist, South Street, leaving 4 children, the youngest an infant only 3 days old, to lament the loss of a kind and affectionate Mother.

Hopps - In loving memory of our dear brother, Ernest Hopps, who fell asleep December 11th, 1929. Hoare
On Sept. 4, 1944, Algernon John Hoare, "Oakwood", 15, Bowes Road, Walton-on-Thames. Funeral at Brookwood Cemetery, Woking, at 3 p. m., Thursday, Sept. 7.

Algernon John Hoare was born on 01 January 1876 and baptised in Clerkenwell St James, Islington, England on 13 July 1876. He died on 04 September 1944. His parents were William Sheppard Hoare and Elizabeth Hoare, nee Baxter, and was married with Grace M. Tollner.

89 Boro, L. I. Soldiers are killed in Action.
Washington, Oct. 20 - The War Department made public today the names of 2,818 soldiers killed in action in the European and Mediterranean areas. The following 89 Brooklyn, Queens and Long Island men are included:

Ho, Pfc., Hom J. - Hom Jim Park, brother, 2910 W. 22d St.
Hodor, Pfc., Stanley - Sophia Hodor, sister, 451 New Jersey Ave.

Hom J. Ho served with the 747th Tank Battalion and was fallen on 15 July 1944 in France. He was interred in the Normandy American Cemetery, France. He awarded the Purple Heart.

Stanley Hodor was born on 14 February 1918 in Hudson, Pennsylvania. He served with the 351st Infantry Battalion, 88th Infantry Division and was fallen on 15 July 1944 in Italy. He was interred in the Long Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale, New York on 09 March 1949.
