Jane (Jeannie) Austin,
(The much-loved wife of Alfred H. Austin),
who died at Sutton-in-Ashfield,
April 28th, 1890,
in the 21st year of her life.
Those whom the God's love die young.
Death takes us by surprise,
And stays our hurrying feet,
The great design unfinished lies,
Our lives are incomplete.
But in the great unknown,
Perfect their shadows seem,
Even as a bridge's arch of stone
Is rounded in the stream.
Interred at Sutton-in-Ashfield, April 30th.
