John Dunn Whitbourn and family John Dunn Whitbourn, born in England ca. 1800 (many theories on DOB and place of birth). Susan(nah), nee CHARTER, married 1822 in Saint Saviour, Southwark, Surrey. Born ca. 1801. Children: William, born ca. 1822. No further information (did not emigrate with parents) Jane Elizabeth, chr. 1824 in Fordham, Cambridge. Mary Ann, chr. 1827 in Fordham, Cambridge. Charles John, chr. 1829 in Fordham, Cambridge. Henry, born ca. 1831. John, born ca. 1834. Elizabeth, born ca. 1838. Susan, born ca. 1840. On 01 October 1842 they arrived in Tasmania on the APOLLINE with John's brother: William Henry Whitbourn, born ca. 1806. Eliza, nee HORSLEY, married on 25 December 1832 in Saint James, Westminster, London. Born ca. 1814. Children: Eliza, born ca. 1834. William, born ca. 1836. George, born ca. 1839. On the shipping record all are said to be from London, except Jane and Mary Ann who are from Newmarket, Cambridge. John Dunn Whitbourn is described as a sawyer on the shipping record. William Henry Whitbourn is a shoemaker. I have found William and Eliza on the 1841 census at Georges Place, parish of St Mary, Borough of Lambeth. I suspect that John and Susan are in London too. However they have strong links with Cambridge and many of the children's death certificates claim birth in Cambridge.
