Fire in Weardale
A thunderstorm of an exceptionally severe character passed over Weardale yesterday afternoon. The lightning set fire to the hay-shed of Mr. William Watson, Winter Gap Farm, Wearhead, and the flames were only prevented involving the dwelling-house by the willing helpers, who hurried to the scene to lend assistance in combating the fire.
