Fanny Tribe
My gg-grandmother was Fanny Tribe (c1822) who always said that she hailed from Bradford-on-Avon,
but I have not yet found a corresponding 1841 census entry or a baptism. Her father was John, but even
though there are no more than a dozen Tribes in Wiltshire or Somerset in 1851, there are two John Tribes
in Bradford, either of which could be her father.
The surname "Tribe" is very unusual in Wiltshire, Somerset and Gloucestershire.

- Fanny Tribe was born on 01 January 1821 and was baptised in Westbury on Trym, Gloucestershire, England on 12 September 1843. She was aged 22 years and her parents were John and Sarah Tribe.
- Fanny Tribe was married to Elijah Close in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, England on 28 November 1847. Her father was John Tribe. The couple had following children: Annie Sophia (1848-1902), Edward Ebenezer (1851-1852), Robert Maxwell (1857-1941), Fanny (1860-1934), Francis (1862-1862), and Albert Walter (1864-1865). Fanny, her husband Elijah and children Ann and Edward emigrated to Australia and arrived Geelong, Victoria, Australia on 05 January 1853. She died in Prahran, Victoria, Australia on 28 July 1901.
