Jane, Arthur and Annie Sutcliffe

Bodies in a cellar Aged woman found with throat cut and brother and sister dead Neighbours called to a house in Earl-Street, Shipley, near Bradford, by a milk woman who could not get any reply to her knocking found Jane Sutcliffe (71) with wounds on the head and throat and in a state of collapse. When the police searched the house they found Arthur Sutcliffe (60) and Annie Sutcliffe (45), brother and sister of Jane Sutcliffe, dead in the cellar. Their throats had been cut. A doctor rendered first aid to Jane Sutcliffe, and she was removed to Bradford Institution at Clayton. (Published in the "Daily Sketch" on October 12, 1930) |
