He was a salesman when he became a member of the Rising Star Lodge in Stoughton, Massachusetts, USA on 23 February 1882. He was married to Annie Swan Ellis in Stoughton, Massachusetts, USA on 24 October 1882. The "Montclair Times" reported the death of David Howard Standish on 03 February 1926. He was interred in the Evergreen Cemetery in Stoughton, Norfolk County, Massachusetts, USA.
