Henry T. Sears
Obstruction on rail line
Youth charged with pulling pieces of iron across track

Charged with placing a piece of iron on the L. M. S. line at South Benfleet with intent to obstruct a train, Henry T. Sears (17), of South Benfleet, was remanded at Southend yesterday.
A detective-inspector said that a platelayer found across the line a piece of iron weighing 35 lbs. which had been removed from the side of the track. On the following day another piece of iron was found at the same place. Sears was interviewed and, it was alleged, said he had pulled the iron across the line. He had done that, he added, on a previous occasion.
