CAR TRIPS ALLEGED
COTTON MANUFACTURER FACES TRIAL
ON TWELVE CHARGES
Despite the defence contention that there was no corroboration of the boys' stories, Frank Reeves, 37, cotton manufacturer, of Berry-street, Brierfield, near Nelson, was at Colne committed for trial on 12 charges concerning boys aged between 11 and 15.
Prosecuting, Mr. A. B. Roebuck declared Reeves was alleged to have taken the boys out in his motor-car, and then back to his garage or mill office.
Reeves, who pleaded "Not guilty," was allowed bail.
