Thomas Pickwick was born in Twerton, Somerset, England on 31 March 1838 and was baptised in Twerton, Somerset, England on 22 April 1838. His parents were Paul and Eliza Pickwick, nee Kettley. He was married to Maria Coombs (1840-1898) in Twerton, Somerset, England on 03 May 1860. He died in Leominster, Massachusetts, USA on 23 May 1915.

Thomas first came to the US in the blizzard of 1888 and returned to England only to find out it wasn't what he thought it would be. He returned to the US in 1890 and remained until his death.

Thomas, his wife Maria, his children Edwin, Amy, William, Rose, Charles also appears on the passenger list of the "Alaska". They travelled from Liverpool to New York and arrived New York on 10 May 1886.
