Edith Ellen Milne
Newspaper Report - Edith Ellen Milne "OUT MIDDLE STUMP."
HARTLEPOOL DEFENDANT WHO SPOILT SOLICITOR'S PLEA.

"Your own client has knocked your middle stump," was the telling simile uttered from the West Hartlepool Bench yesterday, when, in a maintenance case, Mr. W. Bailey, for the husband, pleaded that no seperation order should be granted, as the man was willing to go back to his wife.
On being asked by the Bench if he was willing to go back he replied "No."
Edith Ellen Milne, 12, Gray-st., Hartlepool, the applicant, said her husband had only worked three months during the past two years, and she had had to keep him.
The Bench made an order for 30s per week.
