On the evening of Wednesday the 30th ult., Mrs. McCormack, Riccarton, had occasion to leave the house for a little, leaving behind her a young girl of nine years of age, her daughter, whose clothes coming in contact with the fire, ignited, and ere assistance could be given she was so severely burned about the breast, neck and head that but slight hopes are entertained of her recovery.
