Many thanks to Diane Thomas and Christine Bennett for your great support. |
On the 1891 census she is aged 1 (though she would just have had her second birthday) living at Rodney House, Roundstone Street, Trowbridge, with her father William (42 years old) a solicitor and his wife Julia (44 years old), older sisters Dorothea and Janet and five servants. Rodney House is still a solicitors' office today. I believe the Stancomb family who were presumably somehow related were important in Trowbridge. Dorothea was married to William Harold Montgomery in 1908. |

Margaret S. Mann April - May - June 1913 Wiltshire Melksham William Campbell Adamson |
Trowbridge is in Melksham RD. On 28 May 1913 she married Captain William Campbell Adamson the only surviving son of William Shaw Adamson (1851-1936) and his wife Nora Jane, daughter of Rt. Hon. James Alexander Campbell of Stracathro, born 5 November 1886. He was educated at Fettes College and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. Sadly he died in action in 1915 and is buried at Harlebeke War Cemetery, Belgium. He is however also recorded on this family monument which I think is in Careston kirkyard. They had one son William John born 1914. |
