Discribed as a well-known shop thief, Rose Ellen Iley, aged 38, of Croft-st., was at Middlesbrough yesterday, commited to goal for one month on charges of larceny. Prisoner was said to be in the habit of stealing goods when the shop assistant's back was turned. A pair of boots, perfume, a shirt, and a teddy bear were articles she admitted having stolen recently. (Published in the "Northern Echo" on December 7, 1921) |
