Newspaper Report - William Flower Fatal Accident

On Wednesday evening an inquest was held by Mr. Payne in the board room of St. Thomas's Hospital, touching the death of William Flower aged 60 years, a seaman. The deceased and a man names Appleton were busily engaged on the morning of the 23rd instant, on board the Frenchmans, of Castleforth, Goule, then laying off St Saviour's Dock, when he slipped down the hold head foremost, fracturing his right thigh and severely injuring the spine. He was conveyed to the above hospital, where he died on Tuesday last. Vedict `Accidental death´.

William Flower, born abt. 1783, buried at Knottingley, St. Botolph, Yorkshire, England on 07 October 1843.
