RAZOR SLASHED BODY. STEP-BROTHER SENTENCED TO DEATH FOR MURDER.At Worcester Assizes yesterday, Bert Checketts, aged 24, of Lye, Stourbridge, was guilty of the murder of Alice Mary Rowley, and was sentenced to death. Rowley was the step-sister of the acused. The Judge directed the jury that there was insufficient grounds for finding a verdict of guilty, but insane. The body was found near their home slashed about terribly with a razor found near by.
