A Campbell family from Canada
My Campbells came to Nova Scotia from Scotland in the early 1840's. James Campbell
and wife Mary Jane (Hyndman) married in Scotland on May 1, 1829 . They had sons
David Noble abt 1833 in Dalkeith and James dob. July 12, 1838 in Edinburgh. By 1842-44
they had all emigrated to Salem , Cumberland County , Nova Scotia, Canada. They had
4 more children in Canada: Eliza Jane b. abt. 1842; Alexander dob. Feb. 28, 1845;
Catherine McMillan b. abt. 1847; and Robert dob. June 30, 1852. All born in Salem,
Cumberland Co., N.S., Canada.

James Campbell and Mary Jane Hindman were married in the Toolboth Church in Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland on 01 May 1829.
Some sources are confusing: The emigration index tells the family landed in Canada in 1840.
