The "Surrey Mirror" on 02 March 1945 MARRIAGE OF MISS Y. N. BLADES The marriage of Capt. C. T. Maling, son of the late Mr. F. T. Maling, of Newcastle, and Mrs. Violet Maling, and of Miss Y. N. Blades, youngest daughter of the late Mr. A. F. Blades, and Mrs. Blades, of Rookfields, Reigate, took place at Reigate Parish Church on Tuesday. The church was beautifully decorated by Messrs. Cheal, of Crawley, where the bride has worked for three and a half years, after being in the Horley Fire Service during the early stages of the war. The Vicar (the Rev. R. Talbot) officiated at the fully choral service. The bride, who was given away by her uncle (Mr. F. A. Powell) wore a blue and white striped suit, a dark blue hat and tulle veil, and had a spray of orchids. The best man was Group-Captain Miller, R. A. F. (cousin of the bride), in the absence of the bridegroom's brother (Flying Officer D. Maling). A reception was held at Rookfields, and the bride and bridegroom later left for a short honeymoon, to be spent in Devonshire. |
