Returning to harbour late morning, mined, laid by UC.5 (Herbert Pustkuchen) earlier that day, stern lifted out of water and after end wrecked, sank rapidly 3 cables SE of off Nab Light (50.35N, 00.51.12W); 6 ratings lost and 1 DOW. Lt. Rule reached the boat which had floated clear, then a second explosion, presumably a second mine, blew him over the other side, but he was rescued. |
