Deck Hand Cameron, aged 23, lived at Coillore with his parents Norman and Flora Cameron. He was called up to the Royal Naval Reserve in July 1918 and was serving on HMS "Victory" when he contracted pneumonia from which he died on 30 September 1918. He is buried in Haslar Royal Naval Cemetery in Portsmouth. |

Private MacKinnon, aged 22, was born in Struan, the son of Duncan MacKinnon. Like his father, Peter was a joiner to trade. He was a territorial soldier who had volunteered for overseas service in August 1914. The Cameron Highlanders, as part of the Highland Brigade, were sent to Bedford to train before going over to France. During the infamous measles outbreak at Bedford he contracted the disease and died on 21st December 1914. He is buried in Bedford Cemetery. |

Private McNeill, aged 25, was born in Struan and lived at Bridge Cottage with his parents Roderick and Joan McNeill. He enlisted into the Cameron Highlanders at Dunvegan and was sent to France early in the war. It was during an attack at Vocation Farm in the Third Battle of Ypres that he was killed on 16th November 1917. His body was never found after the attack and he is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial in Belgium. |

Sergeant Lockhart, aged 28, was born at Balgown, the son of William and Marion Lockhart. He enlisted into the Regular Army at Crieff and arrived in France with his battalion in August 1914. In May 1915 he was killed in action while the Seaforth Highlanders were defending trenches near Ypres. He is buried in Divisional Collecting Post Cemetery Extension at Boezinge, near Ypres, Belgium. |

Private Matheson, aged 32, was born in Barvas, Lewis, but lived in Struanmore. He was a regular soldier who had enlisted in the Seaforth Higlanders In Stornoway. He was killed in action near Givenchy on 19th December 1914 and is buried in the Guards Cemetery, near Cuinchy, France. |

Lance Corporal MacDonald, aged 24, was the son of Neil and Annie MacDonald who lived at Coillore. He enlisted in the Seaforth Highlanders and was sent to France. He was killed in action in the attack on Aubers Ridge on 9th May 1915. As he has no known grave he is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial near Festubert in France. |

Private MacLeod was born in Bracadale, but enlisted into the Seaforth Highlanders in Stornoway. He arrived in France in May 1915 and was involved in the Battle of Loos in September 1915. During the latter stages of the Battle of the Somme on 12th October 1916, he was killed in action at Butte de Warlencourt. His body was never found and he is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in France. |

Seaman MacLean, aged 22, lived at Struan with his parents Charles and Mary MacLean, was called up and served on HMS "Mashona", one of the ships which was involved in the pursuit and destruction of the German battleship "Bismarck". On 28th May 1941, one day after the Bismarck was sunk, HMS "Mashona" was attacked by German aircraft and . . . with the loss of 46 crew including Seaman MacLean. He is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. |

Seaman MacDonald, aged 18, was born in Struan and lived at Paisley Hill with his parents Angus and Catherine MacDonald. He was a fisherman and was called up to the Royal Navy Patrol Service. He was serving on HMMFV "1002" when he died on 9th February 1944 as a result of his service. His body was carried home and interred in Struan cemetery. |

3rd Officer Campbell, aged 43, was born in Skinidin but the family had lived in Ebost since 1921. He had been at sea for many years and served in the Royal Navy during the Great War. On 11th May 1940 he was serving on board the SS "Tringa" when she was attacked and sunk in the North Sea by E.-Boats. He is commemorated on the Towerhill Memorial in London. |

Seaman MacAskill is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial. |

His body was carried home and interred in Dunevegan cemetery. |

Private MacDonald, aged 33, lived at Bridge of Ose Cottage with his parents John and Catherine MacDonald. He enlisted in the Black Watch at Perth and was sent to France. During the Battle of Amiens near Buzancy he was wounded in action, and although he was removed to hospital in Rouen he died there on 12th August 1918 as a result of his wounds. He is buried in St. Sever Cemetery Extension in France. |
