Veteran An unknown Veteran
A silent hero

Thank you for sacrifying your youth.
Thank you for sacrifying a part of your soul.
Thank you that we can live in freedom, peace,
friendship and harmony with our neighbours.
Where would we be without you?
Thank you.

The grateful generations of today and tomorrow.

Not far away from the City War Memorial are two stone blocks erected:

The Leeds Rifles and the Leeds Pals The Leeds Rifles and the Leeds Pals To the memory of all those
citizens of Leeds who served in
the Great War 1914 - 1918

In particular we remember
with pride the soldiers of
the Leeds Rifles and the Leeds Pals

"I prayed to God to help me,
and he has answered my prayer."
