Son of the Revd. Richard Wall, A. K. C., and Ethel Mabel Wall,
The Vicarage, Bobbing,
husband of Violet Maud (Diana) Wall,
who died in the same incident.

Leslie Edwin Gordon Wall was born on 23 July 1898 and was baptised in Walmer, Kent, England on 21 August 1898. He was married to Mildred Ivy Pottlock in the Church of Saint George at Hertford Road, Enfield on 17 March 1923. The marriage was divorced in 1828 and he was married to Violet Maude Neal. The marriage was registered in St. Martin, London, England during the third quarter of 1929. He resided in High Halden, Kent, England in 1939.

A newspaper wrote about the divorcement in 1928:
£500 DIVORCE DAMAGES
Damages of £500 were awarded to Mr. Leslie Edwin Gordon Wall, a journalist, of Inverness Terrace, London, who petitioned in the Divorce Court on Monday for the dissolution of his marriage on the ground of his wife's adultery with John Mitchell Aitken Smith, described as a chartered accountant. The case was undefended, and Mr. Smith agreed to pay the sum mentioned as damages.
Lord Merrivale granted Mr. Wall a decreenisi and made an order for the payment of the £500 within fourteen days.

The Royal Military Chapel (The Guards' Chapel)
. . . The roof was badly burnt by incendiary bombs in 1940 and other damage was sustained during enemy raids from time to time, but it was Sunday 18th June 1944 when disaster struck. At 11.10 am during morning service, the chapel was hit by a flying bomb (V1) which entered at the western end and exploded, killing 121 soldiers and civilians, including the Director of Music and five musicians from the Band of the Coldstream Guards. The chapel was completely destroyed with the exception of the apse, but the six silver candlesticks were unmoved by the explosion and the candles remained burning . . .
Remark: Leslie Edwin Gordon Wall and his wife were among the victims.
