Montague Harding Baugh was born on 01 February 1883 and was baptised in the Church of St. John in Cardiff, Glamorganshire, Wales on 07 March 1883. He was married to Dorothea Mary Bryant in the Church of St. Mary in Fishponds, Gloucestershire, England on 29 October 1910.

The "Western Daily Press" on 22 September 1916:
SERGEANT M. H. BAUGH
Sergeant M. H. Baugh of the Gloucesters was killed while fighting for King and Country on September 8. Mrs. Baugh with her baby son were on a visit to her parents Mr. and Mrs. Bryant of "Fernlea", Forest Road, Fishponds, when informed of her sad bereavement by a letter from a fellow sergeant, who wrote:
On Seot. 3 our battalion took part in an advance, and your husband was killed. He was on the left flank of the company, and I was on the right. It may interest you to know that our divisional general described our work as the most rapid and effective advance that had been made by the British Army since the battle of Marne. The men of his company all join in expressing their deep sympathy with you in your great bereavement. As a soldier your husband was the spirit of true patriotism itself while as a friend he was all that could be desired. We have lost a great comrade and we are deeply grieved for you.
Sergeant Bazgh was at his first time in the Gloucestershire Hussars, and previous in the Cyclist Corp of the Glamorgan Volunteers. In civil life he was a clerk in the probate registry, Llandaff, and resident at 3, Valindra Place, Whitechurch, Cardiff, his parents Mr. and Mrs. H. Baugh resided at 21, Ryder Street, Cardiff.
