(Royal Ayr and Wigtown Militia) Royal Scots Fusiliers, as 2nd Lieutenant 07 April 1906, and was promoted Lieutenant 09 December 1909; went to France 11 September 1914, attached to the 1st Battn. of his Regiment; and was killed in action during the lst Battle of Ypres, 11 November 1914. Burled near Ypres. He married in London, Gladys, daughter of Charles Ernest Gwynne Harrison; and had a son and daughter: Patrick, born 15 June, 1914 and Marguerite Gordon, born 03 June 1915.
