Under his chairmanship the Brampton Guardians secured a supply of good water for the town and reformed its drainage 1870-1876.
The Cattle Disease executive Commitee also adopted the Cumberland system of stamping out disease which commenced with the cattle plague 1866. "Plain patient work fulfilled that length of time." |
