Under his chairmanship the Brampton Guardians secured a supply of good water for the town and reformed its drainage 1870-1876.
The Cattle Disease executive Commitee also adopted the Cumberland system of stamping out disease which commenced with the cattle plague 1866. "Plain patient work fulfilled that length of time." |

On December 29, peacefully, in hospital, after his illness borne with great courage and dignity, Ken, aged 80 years, formerly of The Fens Fish and Chip Shop, Retired Professional Football Player and a well known Ambassador of Hartlepool United Football Club, most dearly loved husband of Olwen, much loved dad of Julie, loved and respected by friend Michael. Funeral service of Thanksgiving at the Parish Church of Holy Trinity, Seaton Carew, Tuesday, January 10, at 12noon, prior to cremation at Stranton Grange Crematorium.
